An Exciting Start to 2014!

BeerAdvocate Magazine featured Woodfour in their “Class of 2013” article this month. We made the list of top new breweries that opened in 2013! They say Sebastopol is, “the ideal location for lovers of beer, food and wine.” Co-founder Seth Wood is quoted saying, “I focus on creating beers that make sense next to food.”

Pucker Up Valentine’s Day

Belgian-Style Lambic or Tripel Ales, are brewed with little to no hops so they aren’t bitter like IPA or Pilsner Styles. Most sours are aged and fermented in wine/Pinot Noir barrels. If you aren’t a beer lover, you love wine or if you’d like to try beer’s alternative to Champagne when pairing with Oysters, Brie or Camembert cheeses, then grab your “sweetheart” and try some “sweet-tart,” sour beer this Valentine’s Day!

Executive Chef Jamil Peden and cook Bruce Tuhoy joined Carol Shelton of Carol Shelton Wines at this year’s Epicuria event at San Francisco’s ZAP Festival. The event featured 30 wineries showcasing their zins paired with cuisine from local culinary experts. We offer a small wine selection at Woodfour, but Carol Shelton’s Zinfandel has always been here. We’re honored she chose us as her partner, making Woodfour the only brewery there!

Blade Battle a Huge Success
We hosted our second “Blade Battle” competition this month with a great turnout! Judges were Mark & Terri Stark of Stark Reality Restaurants and Joe Costarella. The raffle raised 200 bucks for Worth Our Weight. Our cooks Collin O'Connor and Julian Leibowitz had an hour to show their best using just 2 ingredients; parsnips and branzino. It was a close race, but Julian won this one –Congrats!
